green making 2 beams

So I had this problem of my novalasers X-50 splitting into 2 beams (TEM01?). The problem went away when I replaced the batteries. Can anyone offer insight into this?

If the problem goes away with new batteries it is probably a simple issue of the diode not getting enough power.
If the problem persists under normal conditions you should contact Nova.
