Hi guys

I have an Dealextreme 50mw Green laser.

Now it have some artifacts.
It's in the focus lense, because when I focus the small spots rotate too.
Could be dust?

Yes, the lens may look clean, but it's not. Mine was doing the same thing and for the longest time I blamed the glue on the crystals or outgassing or something. Finally got some good cleaning bits and cleaned it, and now my laser has no "halo" of speckle.

Just take a qtip and carefully clean the lens. If it doesnt wokr put some ethanol on the qtip and then try to clean the lens !

Hope this helps !

If you don't have ethanol, isopropyl can work in a pinch. Keep in mind, though, that it is mixed with water, and the longer it takes to evaporate, the more likely it is to grab stuff out of the air and deposit it on your lens as it dries. Highest concentration that is easily available is 91% isopropyl.

i was never able to clean a lens perfectly with qtip with ethanol or without one... and i did some experimenting and i found that
a dry tip of a rumpled soft piece of toilet paper does the job pretty well,

I have cleaned the window of a 445nm diode this way, where
I couldn't do it with qtip.

hope it works for you too. :tinfoil:
