You can probably unscrew the head of the laser to get a better look at what is going on,
Did you pay with paypal?

btw just put psK1ldpgnhM in your youtube tags and it will show the video here.

Your camera might have an IR filter check with the IR LED on a tv remote of you don't see anything it's IR filtered and your laser might be giving off IR.

The diode died sorry you can buy new modules from dx and solder the Spring but remember the new modules are case positive.

If it has 2 dots on the heat sink, get some small needle nosed pliers and put the tips in the holes and turn counter clockwise.

If there are no indentations you can use pliers to grab the module under the treads, and rock it back and forth till the heat sink pulls free.

Thank you very much.

I will try that.

And now, what kind of "test point" must I check? (switch, spring,... etc)

Thanks

Test the input into the diode first. If you are getting anything over 500mW then your diode is toast. If you get nothing, your driver is toast.

Thanks.

Thinking of this issue... could be that the laser is too cool and need to be pre-warned???

No. You should get some kind of output no matter how cold it is.

You can also take a piece of white paper, and place it in front of the laser. Look at the back of the paper and look for a faint red dot. If you see one, then your crystals are burned.

If the LED went out, then its probably your driver. Like I said earlier check the output of the driver. Then go from there.
