In about 3 weeks I'll be graduating from my local high school, and will attend my local community college to pursue my career in the medical field. I've thought about what I've wanted to be for awhile, and have had many ideas but decided on being a pharmacist! I've always loved to help peoples & had a special interest with medicines for as long as I can remember so im sure I won't regret this decision.

The pharmacy tech class at the local college will run me about $2000 which honestly is a little scary since I'll need to pay that on my own(taking a student loan) and will need to also pay for insurance etc... on a vehicle!

Anyway, just thought I would share this with everyone on here! Im excited to take this next step in my life & should have more money for lasers once my career hopefully kicks off! I will post pictures later after the graduation ceremony!

Congrats Alex, sounds great! I've always hated having to get a student loan to pay for college. I just can't stand owing the government a fairly big amount of money. Hope you'll do well in college

Thank you! My plan is to stick with my folks for a couple more years so I can start off with a good first car & I won't need to pay rent which gives me more time to save up and be ready when I go out on my own :)

I was friends with a woman many years ago who was a pharmacy tech, my mother was an RN for many years, that's how I met her. Get a job in a hospital, stay away from retail pharmacies like in Walmart or Costco, you will be overworked and paid less. In a hospital you will get higher pay and benifits. A few are also employed in long term care facilities. Your starting pay should be no less than $14 an hour, in a year or two you should be making $3000 a month, maybe more. Best of luck Alex.

Thanks Alan! Yes, I was told I would start out at $14/hour which isn't too bad for someone out of college. School is almost out, so I'll have this summer to kick it, play some COD & relax :)
