BUMPAGE-- GET a really cool blue gas laser and space heater all rolled into one. rotfl

Alex is right--Single Line= one color. it is a beautiful pencil lead thin beam of blue 488nm . must see in person to fully appreciate.

ML means Multi-Line- thru a grating(or a cd) or prism the 'lines' of the colors can be all seen. I have never shown it to anyone that was not amazed--the six lines are 458/476/488/497/502 and 515 nm. these huge, bulky, heavy, hot lasers are olde school for sure-- they come from DNA sequencers- confocal Microscopes, high speed photo copiers and the like-- as the progress in solid state lasers has advanced they have gotten much cheaper than they once were.

Sometimes you have to buy device half the size of a refrigerator to get to the goodies inside- but if you know where to look I have heard of peeps getting them free just to get it out of the way. When they need repairing it is often easier/cheaper to retire the device and go with the DPSS models.

How many mW's is the SL that you're selling?

Also, I'm extremely jealous of anyone who can get a multi-line argon for free

^^^ me too I paid way too much for my argons--here is one I sold to my good friend Mark-- I have anoter one I am keeping--145mWs peak.. Mark's photos were made with a silicon grating of which I have a few for sale. Same price as on ebay.

Yes, but how many mW's is the single line argon you're selling in this thread?

Also, I have a high quality blazed diffraction grating I use for astronomical spectroscopy. :D It's perfect for calculating the wavelength of lasers, but at $250 it's probably more than the average hobbyist wants to spend.
