Hey guys,
This is my first attempt at making an old looking laser with the 9mm 445 diode. I had a lot of these parts sitting on my desk for a few years and only now got back into it, so I'm unsure which lens I have on this thing.
It's a DTR 9mm 445 package with xdrive set at 2.4A. It's pulling back 2.28A off two 18650s and what I think is a 3 element glass lens. More on that soon.
My LPM only goes up to 2W so I dimmed it with a glass cover. Scaling factor is 1.7716.
Doing the math the "reduced" output of this laser (with glass dimmer) is 1.97W, which is too low for this current configuration. So it would appear this could be a stock lens. When I put on a G-2 glass lens the real output becomes 2.6W, still low, and yes the batteries were full.
The writing on the host:
"National Carbon Co. INc
Approved for Safety in Methane and Air Mixtures"
"Underwriters Laboratories
INSPECTED
Flashlight for use in methane and and air mixtures
gasoline vapor and air mixtures
serial no..."
The host has a nice ring at the end to hang it off, and when the batteries run out it can be used as a blunt object. It has a triangular focus ring that was also custom made by MrCrouse well over 2 years ago.
Have been out of the game for a while not sure what to ask, but the host had quite a bit of money go into it, so I'm asking 350$ Canadian (shipped to North America from Canada), elsewhere will be extra. Luckily for you US folks that's almost 20% cheaper when converted.
Paypall or e-mail transfer accepted.
Thanks for looking.
