Hey guys. Been a long time since ive been here and im extremely happy to be back in your company. Great to see some familiar faces, alot of new ones, and some new forums!

Anyways, i have this nova x-100 (CNI green pen) that I am very curious to know more about. All I have are the specs it came with and what I can tell about it's power from seeing the beams brightness fluctuate.

Nova rated it as peaking at 159 and averaging 121 mw. (they also wrote the numbers in the wrong spots, so it says it peaks at 121 and averages 159.... What a freak)

The power output seems to be very unstable for the first couple seconds, especially when starting from cold. I am pretty sure it will have quite an irregular and inconsistent output curve, but ive never had the chance to actually get it tested.

I would really love it if one of you would volunteer to make a couple of graphs and really understand what's going on with the laser. I remember there were always a couple of people around willing to do this. I would certainly appreciate it, and i thought it could make an interesting thread if we got some cool results.

Would pay for return shipping and such, obviously. I'll throw some random goodies in the box as a prize for anybody who volunteers.

So.... Anyone?

If you've got a very high quality meter that will produce graphs and are willing to do several tests (cold/warm starts, etc) and share the graphs, i would be willing to compensate with some currency for you time.

Awesome laser!
My first "powerful" laser was also an X-100 (back then it was called X-105).
NOVA is not as popular these days.

The graph should be pretty normal for a pen laser...
Some fluctuation at start up, peak after warm up, then a steady drop to a more stable output for 60 seconds or so.

Have fun with it!

P.S. I'd offer to test it for you but my power meter is a little old and probably needs calibration. And I've never gotten around to (or felt the need, I suppose) to get a working adapter for the LPM to my laptop.

Where are you located? That information may help.

I bought this right after they switched it from x105 to x100, whenever that was.

Located in maryland, USA. Sorry for not including.

It is just so unstable at startup i figure it might be neat to see a graph. I'm pretty positive they cherry picked one with the highest peak for me to compensate for some issues i had when ordering.
