Found a nice host at 5 below. Help

So if anyone here has ever gone to a 5 below they have some nice stuff for cheap. I picked up a handheld mini mag lite knockoff that is full metal and nice. I'll post pics soon. It's got a button on the back and the battery pack is 4.5 volts. If I had a custom heat sink made and got it all setup whats the most power I could push through it? Also how would I go about wiring it? I would prefer putting a violet diode in it. Thanks, nate

heres some photos. the metal disk was inside the head and is for keeping the battery from flying out the tip.
