Hi,

I was told once laser lens have two sides and if I insert it in the wrong side it reflects more light and kills the diode. So I was wondering - is it a problem if I overfocus a laser (in which the lens are in the right side)? I mean for example that after I focus the laser to get a single tiny dot then I screw the len more so it gets closer to the laser diode and the dot starts growing again.

Thanks,
Yuval

You have been told wrong on both accounts.

Putting the lens in the wrong way just gives you a weird dot, nothing more.
