Well the wait wasn't too bad, the PS finally made it to my house along with my new DMM, still keeping my old one though, I need it to measure Hi voltages.
Here are a few pics of what I am proud to have.

Very nice PS and DMM....
You're now ready for some outrageous Laser experiments...:eg:

You bet, now it's just a matter of the parts getting here and I am set, will start my first build soon. As for now, I already fixed a non working laser that had a small issue in the driver, so I am already happy.

Well, in the mean time, while you're waiting for your build parts, it's time to clean up that bench area, plug everything in, and make a photo for the post your bench thread!

I will personally strangle my UPS guy today if my Ophir doesn't arrive...this wait is as bad as the one for my MS-SSW!

I take back what I said about this hobby teaching me patience...I just hide it better.

Thanks, I did that already, check the bench thread. As for your ophir comming in, I would be in the same mood... I am considering getting one myself. But since I don't use eBay than I am trying to contact the seller to make a direct purchase.

Good luck with that. With no ebay and pp, you're kind of limited. I'll be here if you need a US broker to get it to you.

^^^ They are not bad units for their price range but one thing I suggest is grabbing the 5A capable unit as you can run into issues testing out boost drivers with just 3A supplies.

I ended up paying like $55 and now if you buy anything from CircuitSpecialists over $50 you get a free gift, that can be a DMM. And it looks quite nice.

Why does no one ever buy used? If it's old, used, and still works - that proves it's good quality in my opinion. It's a crap-shoot with the Chinese supplies these days. Here's some of the stuff I found:

40V 10A $50 + Shipping
two 20V 8A $50 + Shipping
two 20V 2A and 7V 6A $100 + Shipping
30V 20A $100 + Shipping
50V 30A $80 + Shipping

and this is JUST in the next ~14 hours of bidding. There's some great stuff out there

Show me a compact $60 supply with digital display and free shipping. Majority of the ebay ones are big, old, high shipping. Old may = reliable but even some of those cheap new ones have a warrantee
