F.S. Hosts W/Heat sink & Axiz module

Hey guys, I have 0 (sold) hosts here. They are in NEW condition with NO scratches or damage. They have very nice GITD grips and side clicky and they come with a custom machined aluminum heat sink, Axiz module with acrylic lens and a packet of heat sink compound as well as the leds the host came with. The compound isn't necessary since the Axiz module fits snug into the heat sink and they have set screws but if you want to use it it's there. These also have retaining rings to secure the heat sink in the head of the host and rubber o-rings at all the connections. I've taken the liberty of cleaning up the threads on the host for smooth operation so they ready for your build. They have the 3 X AAA battery holder so the 10440 lithium's work great, I'm not sure if they will fit an 18650, but I would be glad to modify the existing battery holder for parallel operation per request (no charge).

I'm asking $25 each, shipped anywhere in the continental U.S.

The heat sinks are reversible. The host with green grips has a heat sink with both ends polished and the blue one has one side with a machined finish and the other side is polished (see pics).

Again, these are sold!

Hey guys, I also wanted to mention that I could make you a heat sink if you've already got one of these hosts (26.25mm diameter) or for any host for that matter, just let me know your dimensions. I'll do any size under 32mm dia. X 26mm length made to fit an axiz module (11.95mm-11.98mm I.D.) with a set screw for $8 shipped in the cont. U.S.. If you need something larger or maybe something finned or stepped let me know and we can work out a price.

Give me some opinions, what do you guys think of the hosts? Please don't be shy.
I've got a bit of stock here and I'd like to make you something!

ah that's pretty. I should take a picture of my work space lol. Sometimes it takes me like 10 minutes to find something because i've got so much crap on the desk. And i've got a pile about 3 foot in diameter and waist high of aluminum shavings. Great prices btw.

perhaps if you just listed a price for the hosts they would sell? People are hesitant to make offers.
 
HAHA, I got the same lathe...

In Canada they are either blue and white or green and yellow
sold under 'CRAFTEX' by busybee tools.

Steel gears and a safety shutdown... Excellent little lathe :beer:
 
i've got the same as well. these are the ones sold by harbor freight. The gears aren't metal (at least not all of them)
it does have safety shut down...he removed the cover over the chuck though. I once had it smack my finger so hard that it shut itself down....it was numb for the rest of the day.

IIRC my lathe was made in 2005... Maybe the newer models
got the plastic gears??

I bought mine used and stripped it completely down,
no plastic anywhere.. The 'timing' gears for threading
are also metal... I cant even count how many hours
ive put on mine, no problems other than the usual
maintenance.... knock on w00d...
 
oh i haven't even taken my apart, so all i've seen are the gears for threading which are some kind of composite material.
 
Yeah I like this little lathe it's more accurate than I thought it would be. Mine has the plastic gears also. Its actually a thermoplastic (Polyoxymethylene) used in precision parts that require high stiffness, low friction and excellent dimensional stability.
 
$8 for a heat sink is awesome. If i didn't have a lathe to make my own i'd definitely buy some lol.

The OD of lower cylinder would be around 26 mm with a aixiz sized hole on bottom at 22 mm long. The second cylinder OD of 20 mm and a 17 mm ID with a length of around 50 mm.

If so how much would it cost me shipped?

Edit: Assuming aluminum be the metal you are offering heatsinks in. (would be hard to make a copper one)

Ok, is this what you want? The red portion would fit an axiz module. All one piece right? BTW this drawing is to scale.

Yeah that's it, sorry I just got a new version of autocad and have to relearn it as my old version was quite outdated, so I had to download Sketchup :shhh: sorry for bad drawing.

Any ways this morning I thought a bit. That it might be hard to make this with that thin and long of a upper wall and I noticed you mentioned
maybe something finned or stepped
and I thought of this idea that would be awesome.

The first step would be W: 28 mm L: 22 mm

The rest of the steps would have a length of 15 mm
and steps would go in decreasing order of width 19.0, 16.0 mm, 14.0 mm.

with a boar hole of 12.5 mm

But I'm not sure how possible this is (don't know your tolerances..) and I also don't know how strong 1.5 mm of aluminum would be.. if it would heat up and crack off or something.

But if this is not possible or would just be plain out hard, that first design would be close to what I want but except a 28 mm width instead of 26 mm. I guessed the size of a heatsink from Moh's guidesman 18650 host pretty dam good, was 2 mm off in one dimension, that was an estimate :p

Once again sorry for the bad drawing, but you get the idea


Edit: By the way, This picture is not to scale what so ever, it's just to get the idea of what I mean.
