Are 2 AA Energizer 2300 MAH batteries good for a laser extracted out of a dvd burner. ??

Re: Energizer batteries..

Energizer batteries are good for most everything and you should have no problem with them, be sure to use a laser diode driver and set it for the correct current out for the diode you have, good luck :)

Re: Energizer batteries..

Ok. The laser is (ALMOST) done.. But when i was buying the batteries and i saw they were 1.2 volts each -_-

That means i need 6 batteries to get 7.2 volts which is for ideal usage of this driver

got the info from here

That batteries will be all 2300 or 2450 MAH..

So i am a little worried.. Don't want to destroy all that stuff?

So will 6 batteries.. Rechargeable of such MAH be good?? for 7.2 volts and lets say 2450 MAH each battery?

Good for a red laser extracted out of a x16 DVD Burner?

Just worried :P

As long as your hitting a voltage your driver can handle it really doesn't matter what or how many batteries.

Heres a question. what if you use batts that under power your laser. such as 18650 as opposed to 16340s. would that cause harm to the driver or diode?

18650 batteries have a greater capacity than 16340's but I don't believe anyone has had any damage done by under powering.

Remember that Alkaline batteries don't like high current draw, so while they'll still work for your laser, they may perform below their rated mAh.

That's good to know Bionic-Badger! I was thinking about making a thread to ask about that since I found some nonrechargeable 16340's. Glad to not waste the money on them.

Thanks,
Isaac
