Edit: I finally received my 18650 kit from JayRob. I must first thank him for his patience with me and what a great help he has been. The laser took 4 weeks to get from US to Australia O_O

Safety warning! Wear safety goggles when handling lasers! To take this pictures I was swapping the goggles as I was taking the images

Hey everyone,
Just received my Goggles from Survival Lasers. Shipping took exactly 2 weeks to get to Australia.

I bought these for blocking 445nm however since I don't have it yet I only had a red diode pulled out of a dvd burner to test these out with.

Overall the build quality is superb. Feels very solid and wraps around my face perfectly.

How it came

Whats inside

Tried my best to get a good image of the wavelengths and rating silkscreen
It says 190-470nm & 610-760nm OD4+

Laser dot from my dvd burner diode without the glasses

Laser dot with the glasses. The image turned out a lot darker than what it really is when you use the glasses

The kit finally!

Glass lens

The extra bits from the original host

445 Diode that I got from DTR

Frontview of the heatsink

Host in its parts

Driver on the pill

Assembled and soldered!

First power on test

First burning job

Quick beamshot

Control beamshot for the next set of tests

Beam through the Eagle Pair goggles. There isn't actually much of the laser hitting the envelope. That is mostly glare

Beam view from the goggles

Cheap ebay goggles (Trex) with link

Cheap ebay goggles. No name. Link

Semi-final thoughts:
I love my new 445 laser!
The Eagle Pair is the pair of goggles that I would definitely recommend to anyone. They have a bit lower light visibility however they are able to block out the lower wavelength lasers and the reds as well.

Surprisingly, Both cheap ebay goggles work pretty well at blocking out some of the beam. However I feel that the second ebay set (not the Trex) works much better than the Trex ones.

Now all I need is an LPM. If anyone in Sydney has one and is willing to help me LPM all this stuff please contact me =D

Edit: LPMed at greater than 1W

I wish I had some access to some of the lower wavelength lasers to test this out and maybe an LPM haha so I can do a more in depth review. I haven't seen anyone do a review of this multiwavelength goggle.

He may be a little busy but otherwise he's really great at shipping in timely manner, I'll help you out with the LPM part when I get my lasers back from JakeGT, it won't the actual power because it would just be a TEC connected to a DMM but should be able to demonstrate the absorbtion.

Re: Eagle Pair 190-470nm & 610-760nm Safety Goggles Mini Review

Received my goggles today. A few days ahead of schedule!

The multi wavelentgh goggles are actually pretty nice. I gave them a quick test and they seem to block out all the visable light in the range. I hope to receive my LPM next week and I will be able to give them a proper test.

But so far so good.

If you're talking about these, they're not dual wavelength. At least they're not advertised as such.

They aren't advertised, but the ones I got are identical to his, with both wavelengths listed on the lens. My guess is it's just not advertised because their website is terrible in design, but their glasses are solid. I guess it IS possible that my pair was just different. Who knows?
