they just added a bunch of their pen style (commonly green) lasers but this time they are violet!
here is the link to that day's additions, easiest way to find them:

DealExtreme New Products (frequently updated)

i still cant figure out how to do fancy links... but that should do for now :p

23$ for a 5mw one up to 48$ for a 100mw and many in between...
i still need to buy a diode for my simple box build... maybe i'll get one of these too.
cant wait for some reviews and actual outputs

In my opinion, this sucks. Pretty soon Violet lasers will not be so special.
I liked being one of the few that owned a violet laser.

But it will a lot of people who can't build one. The 100mW pen is barely more than it would cost to build a PHR! That is, if they're actually up to spec.

You know, Dealextreme really isn't that popular. It's not like the whole world's going to see it.

But I just realized, people are going to mistake these for blue lasers. This is going to cause an outrage...

people are going to mistake these for blue lasers for sure but they will get a cooler one, blu rays better than blue also cost less to build a blu ray.

I just received mine I ordered the 100mW one
works great tests at 85mW on my Kenometer
It does have a very large rectangular dot 2mil by 4mil at 1 meter
only took 5 days from ordering to get to my doorstep so they must have really improved shipping.

erm, the fact that they look cooler for you doesn't mean they are "better".

Better at what? I Personally like blue a lot more than violet, and keep in mind a 80mW blue laser is worth 2000$, so someone might get really scammed.

Build quality is decent I dont have any problems with mine.
They are the same black painted brass pens as the green's DX sells.
Not really up to doing beam shots sorry.
Beam is visible in the dark but thats about it.
For a first 405 these seem like good units.
While it is a little underpowered it couls be due to older batteries.
I will test it again with some fresh E2's when I get a chance this week

Update

I tried a few dif batteries all new and fresh and noticed no change in the output it is still around 80-84 mW
Maybe they shipped me the 80 mW one with a <100mW sticker who knows
