Thanks for the post !! I'm not as computer literate as I am with the other sciences !! I couldn't get this in on CPF. The diode runs at 290 mA with three AAA Alkie cells through a 2.7 ohm resistor.

Lots of brass for heatsinking and external focus !!

Mike

Science is supposed to be FUN !!

Yea he could make the cases ready to pop the diode inside it. I'd buy one ;)

It's one of Dr. LAva's kits built into a flashlight.

Sorry I confused some folks when I called it my "Lava Light 1" !!

Even at an estimated 180 mW, The beam isn't as bright as a 100 mW greenie. The spot is bright and focus for burning is somewhat critical over 4'.

Yeah - I got mine up to a registered 177mw - and 5.0 foot match light...at 5.5 feet, it smoked - nothing more. Uhm of course...mine looks NOWHERE near as pretty as yours does !

You gotta go to CPF and see what someone did with his "kit". TINY package with a switcher board about the size of your thumb nail !!

Beautiful marriage of technology..... Even I'm impressed.

That is a very nice case you made! Are you thinking about making more, and selling them?

I saw the one on CPF you were referring to Mike. Quite frankly, they're both awesome!!! You could DEFINITELY sell these.
