Thats right, im a customer service nightmare.

Im leaving certain details out to protect the innocent (namely DrLava)

i purchased a product from lava a few weeks ago when he got it in stock. It was something that i had to assemble, and it was the first thing like this i have ever assembled. Im not a very good solderer and it seems that i screwed it up. Well i contacted Lava and he did everything in his power to assist me. He knew exactly how to troubleshoot the problem and all i needed was a multi meter (wich was required for the project anyway).

Now let me make it vividly clear that I am total pain in the ass when it comes to customer service. As IT professional i deal with customers all day long, and i would classify myself as needy and difficult.

There were several sessions of troubleshooting before we finaly relized that i screwed the pooch on my assembly. So I decided to start over.

Again to protect his interests i will not go in to the final arangement that we came to, but needless to say i am pleased with his knowledge, integrity, service and support. I will continue to purchase from him (tho he may not be to happy about that) with complete confidence and assurance that i will recieve a quality product from a trusted suplier.

there is no question among forum members as to the quality of DrLava's product. And always seems to contribute some of the most useful information to this community. But i just had to put my 2 cents in on the subject.

hehe.  Lava hates me (well maybe not really).  I constantly barrage him with stupid questions including redundant ones.  Many times I'll answer my own question as soon as it's away and I realize how dumb it was.  but he tolerates me (why I've no clue) and continues to assist me to the best of his ability. (well maybe sometimes he gets fed up with me)  Keep up the good work lava.

Oh and I MUST state, that even though there are drivers aplenty out there and lots of folks who could have gotten me a driver setup for cheap for these barrels, lava has continued to come up with excellent and cheap sources of electronics to keep these barrels we all love so much supplied with electricity.

The FlexDrives are top notch! Down right genius. Small enough to fit in any build. Even a leadlight and from what I understand, the new version can be trimmed to fit inside an AixiZ module!

Note: If you by a laser that has a FlexDirve, it is not recommended to try to make adjustments on the driver unless you know how to disconnect the LD, and use a 'dummy load'. Although the small pot is right there and easy to turn, the pot is very sensitive, and you can easily kill the diode by trying to adjust the current in this way...

Ok then! So, how do I purchase 10 or 20 flexdrives from DrLava? I sent a PM, but to no avail. He was on-line when I sent it. Maybe it's because I'm a nooby. Is that it? Maybe he thought 10 or 20 flexdrives was a joke, but it's not. I've bought two and three at a time, but now it's time to step it up a little! Thanx guys, Blob

Merged two consecutive posts

Mohrenberg: Sorry about the bump.. Told everybody I was new! Nobody told me what to do. But I guess I'm finding out, thanx 2 you fine gentlemen! I'll look at the date next time. On another note, my research did pay off. Hooked up with the doc yesterday and stocked up on some drives. So, what does it mean now that I bumped an old thread? Does that mean you have to respond? Or should I not say any more in this old thread? I never did a forum b4! Who's hand are you holding? Later, the Blob.

No daguin, the chip is in the driver now. Couldn't get to work on the shoulder. I read in one of your posts about a red from a GW, I think, that you were driving at 500mA. I thought that was pretty cool, so I pumped mine up to 485mA. Awesome. It's in one of those tiny little Lowes keychain deals. The large dot is in the shape of a skull. Can't resist messin' with it. It's been two weeks now. I guess it'll burn out soon enough at that rate. How long have you been burning yours?

Uh oh! I'm posting again in this dead thread! Am I the cause you guys are in here chewing me out!? I really don't know what's going on yet. I got kicked out yesterday, but Avery let me back in! I guess I didn't read enough about the rules! It might not hurt if you guys lighten up a bit! Blob
