Driver wokrs or not?

Hello guys
i was trying to make laser an year ago but i broke 2 diodes and gave up
yesterday i found all the parts and diode, i thought diode was dead and wanted to check what would it do if i connect 4.2v battery , then i got surpise, it was lighting very bright! then it got leded
now i got motivated, bought diode and waiting for shipping, what about driver, i have just reistor connected to lm317 and want to check if i have don it ok and if it works (im 14years old,noob in electronics :( )
when i connect multimeter to it sometimes it shows me 3.5v 3.6v 3.7v sometimes 7.4 , and when i choose 10A on multimeter it shows me 0.03 - 0.04 so its between 300-400 mA ? and what about voltage ? :( i dont understand why it shows me 7.4 v , an is 3.5 - 3.7v normal for lpc 826?

also yesterday i put my batteries and driver in host (no diode) and clicked button and didnt think that it would make anything, in few minutes when i touched host it was warm and hot where the driver is , lm317 was all hot , maybe it got fried? but with other resistor and lm317 it shows same : |
 
but now when i check voltage its shows me 7.4 : | im connecting multimeter to batteries - and driver out +
 
Can you post a picture how you have it all wired up?

Also, NEVER try measuring "Amps" of the battery, if you used 10A setting on your Multimeter and tried measuring the battery, you're essentially shorting it out.

It's very difficult to pinpoint the problem from your vague description. Post some pictures, then we'll be able to spot the problem and help.

Also, it would be really cool if you proof-read your posts and correct spelling errors, also use punctuation, it really helps people read through your posts faster.

when i connect these 4.2 v batteries dirrectly to dc motor it runs very fast
when i connect it through this "driver" it runs slowly
maybe im testing it wrong

use a test load search in the forum a "dummy load"

ehh i have no any store of electronics near to buy things like resistor , capacitor and anything else, i buy them from ebay, it takes 2-3 week, is there any alternative of dummy load? without 1 ohm resistor?

sorry man but a dummy load is the most secure way to check the current or you can buy a driver with set up current

where do you live??? i can make a dummy load and send it to you

no, thanks, i already bought some resistors and waiting for shipping, diodes i have.
so i should wire like this?

No, you should use the dummy load instead of a real diode.

Here's a very old pseudo-schematic I made, should be easy to read.
