dreamlasers 635nm prices

i emailed dreamlasers yesterday, asking what the prices were on their 635nm modules, 10-400mW. i thought this info might be useful/interesting for others, so here it is:

i can guess there's not gonna be any group buys of anything over 10mW at those prices! big jump even at 20mW! but still, if anyone wants to spend say $650 + parts on making a 100mW 635nm, now you know the price all the 100mW and above modules seem to come with TEC. anyone know any better prices for high powered 635nm diodes/modules? any companies wanna start buying 50s/100s of these at a time n making them into pointers?

I doubt though that all these power level modules are small enough for hand held use.
I have last years catalog from them. Here is some info from it.
1-25mW is 3-5V DC
1-10mW diameter 12mm length 32mm
10-25mW diameter 14mm length 38mm

Both with 2x5mm beam (line)

Then they offer 100-400mW 635nm that are desk top modules with separate power supply. 6mm beam.


just something to keep in mind before ordering.

P.S. Customer service is really cool to deal with. They shipped me their color catalog (lots of pics)free of charge in 2 days from Shanghai to US.

Just FYI, for anyone looking into the 100mW+ red modules, I can offer better prices .

I've also been trying to think up a good way to make a high power 635nm portable, but it would be difficult to do at a reasonable cost when demand is so low.

640nm 150mW diodes are available for ~$120 from opnext. A GB was arranged on PL about a year ago.
