Just got cable internet and can't get my network adapter to work with it.
It says I'm conected but with with no internet. I can use the HP quickweb on my computer, but not when using it with windows loaded.
I have windows 7 servpack1. I know I just need to change a setting but can't seem to find it.
Thanks
Ed :cryyy:

Does your laptop have a key combination for turning wifi on and off? Fn+F2 is the normal one, but it varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.

I would also guess that perhaps you have a static IP configured on your laptop, and that you need to change it back to dynamic. Not gonna reinvent the wheel, here's a random webpage with the instructions: Windows 7 - Converting from Static to Dynamic IP | Information Technology Group

Is DHCP set up on your router so that your computer is assigned a local IP to use?
