Does DX really sell 5mW+ lasers?

Hey all. I live in India, and really want to buy a laser, but most of the sites are too expensive, or their shipping is too high, or they don't have Paypal. After a lot of searching, I'd say DX is my best option but I'm really confused about what they're selling... All their lasers say 5mW, but these same lasers are posted in other sites as 30mW or 50mW. So what's the deal? Are they selling overspeced lasers and labeling them as 5mW, or are these all REALLY 5mW?

Most generic 5mW lasers are overspec. That one is likely to be overspec. DX is crap. There are tons of cheaper options on eBay.

BTW I forgot to mention that I'm looking for a laser of minimum 30mW, or at least one that has a strong and visible beam, perhaps in a $30 range.

Just go with eBay.

Those lasers are generally putting out 30mW. Some hit 50mW and above. No need to spend $30 for a 30mW laser. If I were you, I'd buy 6 pens for your $30. In case one dies then you have five more left.

You can also get a pack of overspec (~30mW) RGV laser pens. They cost about $15 a pack. Here is the link:

Cheap 5mW 532nm Green Laser Pointer Pen with DX Logo (2*AAA)

These are outstanding 532/green lasers. I've purchased 3 times in the past few months. 6 last month. 5 where way over spec, 1 was normal.

I have no clue why anyone would slam these DX pens. They are great! Way overspec with solid green beam at night.
