I wanted to buy a Dazer Laser, but I can't seem to get my hands on one. So I decided to build my own. Using a 100mW dpss green laser module with the stock focusing lense removed.
I gutted a small toy gun, painted it, added a safety key switch, and used a larger glass lense to get better beam divergence for this project to work correctly.
My diy dazer laser runs on 2xAAA energizer advanced lithiums .
I'm satisfied with the results for now, but I still want the official Dazer Laser.
This is NOT a TOY !

I've been thinking about making one of these too! I though about putting a 55 timer on it and pulsing it at 5-10 hz's so it has a strobe effect and the intense light. The biggest thing i'm worried about is safety. I've saw a dazer on a website that had a 235mw output and a safe distance of 3 ft. That is a lot of power to have three feet from your eyes lol.

I like the build. Like I needed another idea right now lol

Question remains: how will you find out if it actually works?

Nice build :topic:
but are you sure that it is really safe? Maybe was better to use a 5mW green laser with big divergence

Not bad Sarge but the Dazer Laser is more powerfull, verry robust and rugged and waterproof.
It is also pulsed @ a frequency that gives you something like motion sickness,...:D
Anyway interesting build you got there. ;)

Cute build. +1 :)

Isn't the divergence a bit low?
Sure, it is non-lethal, but what about permanent eye damage?

I recommend you read up on dazzler power levels, and report back.
(Wasn't it you who mentioned avoiding some trouble by using a defocused 12X?)

Looks like the beam is about the size of someones head at the position of the door. The problem is that the radius varies with the distance from this device, so there will always be spots where its dangerous, ineffective and posibly both.
