Well I would suggest trying to align the crystal again to see if you can get any green. If not than most likely the diode is to blame.

However, (because it is hard to tell in the pictures) it is possible that the two crystals in the block that are usually glued together have come apart. The way to check that is to look down the crystal block (while the laser is off) and see if the crystal is perfectly clear without any fractures.

Really? I though hybrids had a fairly low maximum output... Even with active cooling... Then again, it wouldn't really make sense to put a whole crystal array inside of a pointer. Well, you learn something new everyday :).

Connorspyder, some more pics of the laser module would be very helpful.

hey h20oxide ive been gone for awhile still intrested in helping me solve this thing

Of course! I'm always happy to help someone in need :).

I need some pictures of the inside of the module, is there any way you could obtain said pictures?

It's this thing:

I just need several detailed pics of the stuff that came out of this.

Is the IR diode still powerful enough to burn anything? I've tried to contact WL about what crystals they use to see if it's a possible phase-mismatch. Although it's unlikely they use anything other than YVO4 and KTP you never know. I'm still waiting from a response from them. I'll let you know as soon as I hear back. :)

Okay I'm going to take that as a no.

The IR diode is several times more powerful than than the green light actually emitted by the laser, due to low conversion efficiency. So if it can't burn anything then it probably means the diode is toast.

It very well may not burn anything without being focused through a lens first. Be careful with that IR, the lens in your eye can focus it and burn a hole in your retina.
