Disassembly of a DX Laser?

Hi all,

I have a 50mW DX laser I plan to use as a telescope finder. I would like to take it apart so I can move the power switch to the telescope mount, and allow it to be continuously on for a few minutes at a time.

I could either replace the switch with a couple of wires leading to a new switch, or replace the back, or drill out the back, and replace with some sort of switch, then hold the main switch down with an o-ring.

I've tried unscrewing both ends by hand, no joy. Glued? I don't mind messing up the finish but I don't want to completely destroy it.

TIA

Probably the "easiest" way to do this would be to just open it where it normally allows you to. Get some other supply of ~3V and use alligator clips to supply power. One on the spring for negative and one on the case for positive. Then just use something like a zip tie to hold the button down.
