diode identification

hey guys, i recently took out a diode from my dead old laptop. i new it was probably strong cuz it said class 3b laser on the warning sticker. the only thing is that its like half of the diode. its not an open can but its more like just half of the can and the ring around it. if anyone can help me out please do cuz im confused. thank you!!!

sorry i accidentally erased your post pseudolobster. and i see what your saying about the module but why would it b hard to mount and heatsink and stuff?

I don't think you'd have any real issue mounting that diode in an Aixiz module.. The fact that it's got a little bit shaved off the side shouldn't matter as long as the rest of the diode is the right diameter.
