Dino Direct 50mw 532nm w/ blue LED indicator Pen Style

I am sure most people have just passed this over cause:

1) Most likely crappy laser (which I don't know for sure)

and

2) No link to said laser

Just trying to help you with posting threads, links are always good :D, and it helps if you
research similar lasers like the one you are posting about to see if it is really a good deal. (which this probably isn't)

And most lasers like this one will almost always be underspec by around 50-75% off the actual listed power, or more!

Dino Direct is from China, just like Deal Extreme (Link) and price angels (Link).

Though I believe I speak for most members here when I say that out of all the Chinese websites
Deal Extreme is the best when it comes to finding a host or very basic laser accessories.

Weecho, thank you for being polite about asking for help, it is nice to see manners in this day and age on the internet.

But sadly this thread is not the place to post that request for help.

Just because the word 'Dinodirect' is in the Thread title doesn't mean you can post anything about dinodirect in it. That question should be posted in the help section of the forum, or whatever specific wavelength of light section it is (532nm I am guessing). This thread is specifically for CRooFE's question about the laser/light combo's quality.

But, to give a quick answer, there is not much you can do except taking the module out of the pen and soldering the spring back onto the correct terminal on the driver (probably the -Vin since the host is most likely case positive).
Other than that, you are done for with that laser, sorry.

I have never delt with dino direct personally, but from what I have heard from other members, they are about the same shipping time as all chinese warehouses selling cheap lasers, around 2-3weeks, ten days at the minimum.

EDIT: I went to the link and from the looks of it, I stand with my previous formulated opinion that this is probably a crappy laser. The site quotes 100mW, and I am guessing it would be lucky to reach the 50mW you mentioned. Also, even if it did reach 50mW, I am sure some of that will be IR since almost no pen lasers have IR filters. I hope that answers most of your questions!

No problem, sorry it probably wasn't the good news you wanted to hear.

But, it is up to you in the end and if you want to take a chance on that one I say go ahead. The blue LED indicator would be pretty cool, but be prepared for it to only be around a max of 50mW, probably more like 20-30mW.

Good luck finding a laser you will be happy with!

I might just order modules from cni instead then get some good host :D

Am I missing something? Perhaps a different currency? In USD, it looks like it's $36. Of course these lasers are underspec, but who cares? Power isn't everything, and most people already assume Chinese lasers are underspec. 10mW in a nice case with an indicator LED for $15 would be reasonable. Power isn't everything. But I would update the price in your post, or else just remove this thread since I don't think people would be interested at that price. That is not a "deal", it's just another regular price. Might as well quote the entire website if we'd include "deal"s like that.

Ya i see it $36.

For $36 you can buy a better laser, even though it says 100mw, it is probably 50mw or less. And where is the indicator light? I don't see any pictures of it, and i have never seen this type of pen with it.

ok nvm the price, i think i lost the original link, but anyways there you go.

Machro, thanks for the advice to the people involved in this thread...

But...

This thread isn't about buying from Dino Direct, it is about a specific product
from Dino Direct that was a 532nm laser with a blue LED indicator light.

Also, I wouldn't say necro posting just yet, but it was getting close.

Just trying to help you out with your posts.

Have a good day sir.

Yeah but this product is very similar to the other one and it has been tested by a reputable member so if OP isn't sure what to buy I just wanted to post an alternative.
