I've previously posted a thread on this great $100 eBay laser that I purchased 18 months ago, it puts out 1.6w and it's very solid alloy, everything unscrews including the module and I'm thinking the diode is a PLTB 450 instead of a M140 becouse the divergence can focus to a tiny dot nicer than the M140,
It has a decent glass lens so I haven't bothered changing it.

Something unusual I noticed is with cheap 16340 batts the linear driver outputs 1.6w Max, put in new 16340 IMRs and it only hits 1.3w very strange,

So I decided to modify the host to my liking, I removed all the nurling and crowns in the handle in the outer heatsink in the focus cap and the clicky, this is a very solid host I could have made the whole host one size like a kryton but then it would have been plain, I think it looks awsome now, this is a nice solid host to customise to your preferred design if that's what you want to do.

Thanks guys
I like it and just decided it's been going strong for 18 months and I have a few spare diodes so I gave the pot a quarter turn I was hoping to get a little more power out but the pot only goes 1 full rotation and lowest is 600mw and Highest is 1.65w oh well, I now this diode is going to have a long life but I would love to put a 462 in it,
Maybe even a NUBMO7E in DTR 20mm copper module brought down to replace the brass heatsink, yes that's what I'm gonna do!
