beautiful pics you have !! Yeah red over sets the camera's CMOS sensor and replaces the light with red so it looks like the lights were off. That last pic looks like a Small Pecker ;D

Beautiful shots! It's a quartz crystal, isn't it? I have a similar one myself, but never thought about shining a laser on it. I've tried now with both red and green, and it sure looks awesome.

I just wish I had a better camera so that I could capture it.

Very pretty Artix.

Be very mindful of reflection when shining the laser on crystals.  The faces of the crystal can give pure specular reflection that can damage your retina.

They are beautiful.  I shine lasers on mine all of the time.  I am surrounded by crystals in my office.  Try shining a violet laser on them. Many crystals fluoresce under long-wave UV light.

However, be careful

Peace,
dave

That is what my goggles are for! ;)
I was wearing them, I took about twice as many shots of this crystal than there are here. But I missed the crystal completely because I just couldn't see the laser!

Oh thanks! I was wondering what kind of crystal it was.

I don't know very much about crystals... What other types of quartz are there?
