Actually I'm wanting to combine four 125mW 405nm beams. But I was wondering where can I find a dichro for combining two 405nm beams?

You can't use a dichro if you are going to join two beams of the same wavelength. You could use a few beam splitter cubes. I'm not sure how you would do the layout though. I saw a post somewhere for 4 reds though. The procedure should be the same. If I can find it again I'll post it up.

you need a cubed beam splitter.

you will need to check spec but a 473nm cube may work

If you have stripped the blu rays out of the sled you will have a suitable cube to combine 2 at least, (use the small one nearest the LD) the br going straight through needs to be polorised, the one reflected from the side can be any way round....in my experience.....when it comes to 4 LDs...not a clue :)

The smaller cube BS in a PS-3 sled will do, The light form diode lasers is highly polarized; the P plane is parallel to the axis that diverges fastest.

What about an LG HDDVD burner? Or will any 803T sled have one?

It would take 5 of them to combine 4 beams. But I may be able to get away with using only 3. By aiming two lasers into one splitter...?

no this will split any beam 50/50

you need a polorized one[/quote]

But what if you shine the two lasers into the two outgoing ends?

no that cube does not work like that.

no matter what side you put the laser in, it will always give u a 50/50 spplit

well if you want to get expensive ones then edmund optics has several to choose from, but you will spend well over $100 each. A lot of the bluray drives have them, but I am ot sure which sleds have what off the top of my head. Anyone know if the 803T sled for sure has PBS's?

i've got an empty 803T sled that was i going to throw away... if OP wants it I wouldn't mind sending it over for the price of shipping

Also - for LOTS of different items, check out Sam's Classifieds :) You know....SAM from Sam's Laser FAQ's ! I saw some 405nm beamsplitter/combiners in there today as a matter of fact !
