Even though this is a high drain lithium iron phosphate cell,

the red hot strap could melt thru the PVC tube at the positive end,

causing even more dangerous higher currents !

Does show the potential damage of shorting a charged cell's terminals.

If I am not wrong SONY ones are not bad as well. But forgive me if I am wrong. New to laser(Just planning to build one) and even batteries.

Yeah I have experience with Sony li-ions, mine are still working fine from being pulled from a Sony laptop 13 years old

Having used hundreds of various #18650 cells,

I am not a big fan of Sony cells .
Internal Resistance is generally too high.

They are better than the Chinese brands.

I like Panasonic & Sanyo better.
