Hey so I just popped onto eBay real quick and saw this

Aluminum Heatsink 53x22mm for 3W or 5W LED, DIY | eBay

Anyway it says the hole diameter is 11mm, but with a little work someone could easily adapt that to a press fit sized hole, or even a hole for green laser modules!

Just figured this might be a time/money saver for some beginners looking to do some budget building that require good, but not amazing, heatsinking.

For $3, not a bad deal!

*Just realized this should be in the "Deals & Discount" section.
I'll PM an admin to move it ASAP

Looks like an awesome find... too bad I can't rep you atm. -GH

Haha no worries, yeah I was surprised to see it has a hole through it already. And even if it isn't all the way through the heatsink (it doesn't show in the pictures) It's bound to be deep enough to allow heat transfer.

I have them at home, I use them for my 3W mood lights.
Cooling a 3W led 24/24 is max, 5W generates to much heat to handle and needs addition of a small fan.
They also exist in 10W non hole edition/version by the way (link and these link altough ficating these to drill the hole wont be easy) ;)
