My <30mw laser seems to be wearing out already, i have to press the button harder and harder to get it to work fully. It has come to the point to where i can click the button and nothing happens until i press it pretty hard. How can i fix this?

Try taking out the moduel ( Do it at your own risk. ) Once you see the button see if there any damage. Then see if it can be fixed.

Regards,

Ben

Sounds like the driver board has been bent down, along with the diode pins, I'd stop using it until you know for sure, otherwise you could damage it irreparably.

I agree with proto. Im assuming it unscrews in the middle, and has a silver looking tip? If so, try to look inside the laser and see if the circuitbiards bent.

If the PCB is NOT bent, then look for this. The switches those laser use have just two contact 'legs'. Sometimes from just from normal use, or just pressing too hard, one of the solder joints at one of the legs, breaks. A quick, careful touch with a soldering iron, just enough to re-melt the solder & re-connect the leg will fix the problem. If that's NOT the problem, & the PCB isn't bent, then the switch itself may be the culprit. If it is, you have no other option but to replace the switch. It's an easy fix, if you can solder. Just don't melt the plastic body of the switch. If you need a replacement switch, send me your address via PM & I'll send you a BRAND NEW, NEVER USED switch. This will be provided for you for FREE, just pay the S&H fees.

@ ALL MEMBERS, If you have broken, destroyed, melted or lost the little rubber push button that goes on top of your pen lasers on/off switch, & you need a replacement, just send me your COMPLETE MAILING ADDRESS via PM, & I can send you another one. Please include the dimensions (in mm's.) of the button so I send you the correct size, as I have a variety of sizes & shapes. These will be provided for FREE except for S&H fees.
