hello LPF, i bought an green 532nm laser from DX,it costs 10.80USD again really cheap so i tought i have nothing to lose, but when i came on MSN Borqueen spoke too me,

and said i had something too lose, my sight, he said that those cheap laser didnt where IR filtered, and the dot shined in to my eye.
i go to the optician on monday.

when will i notice when my eye is damaged?

may greetings.

yes i shined it directly in to my eye en this laser reflects on almost everything.

Sorry, just so that I understand - you took the laser, while it was turned on, and shined it directly into your eye?

This ^ is much more serious than a reflection (though reflections are dangerous too)

Why did you do this?

Wow, ok. Well my sense is that you would have noticed damage already. Having said that, there's a thread on this forum somewhere with some links to test images you can look at to help identify whether you have eye damage. I couldn't find the thread, but hopefully someone popping in here after me will know what I'm talking about and post the URL.

okay, i thank u very much.

my safety goggles are on the way probadly should be here in a few days.

many greetings mark.

I've got to admit, when I bought a lot of 5mW greenies from ebay, I intentionally swiped
one across one eye, because I was planning to sell them "on the street" and I HAD to know
what kind of damage to expect in case of an accident.
I didn't stare into it, of course, but the quick swipe was painful enough and temporarily blinding.
I wouldn't advise anyone to do something like this.
