When placed in a heatsink only with no cooling, how long could i run it without riscing damage?
Im going to put one in my projector with a g2 lens, and want a total power of 1.5W.
Whats the runtime and how much current would i need?
Can i run it longer then 20 minutes on full power at least?

Not sure! m140s are way more efficient than the a140s like whats in my Arctic, and it doesn't start to get that warm on High till its been on for 30 min.

Although I am sure its nowhere near 1.5W LOL

Already saw that link. I know because of that, that the m140 is the best.
But not yet how long i could run it at 1.5W, before im riscing damage and power instabiliy.
Whats a safe power for this diode, wich makes it run for at least 20mins on full power, without cooling but only a pretty large heatsink? Droplr • IMG_4763.JPG
And the heatsink attached to a 1cm thick aluminium plate...?

No one has done that experiment

Please report your results when you are done

aw thats to bad. how should i proceed if i want to test?
Use a probe for detecting temperature and see how high it gets?
How high is not longer safe and normal for the diode?

thanks anyways^^

As the 445nm diode heats up, it starts to loose output power
Measure at what temperature the output becomes unacceptable

1500mW does fine in a large heatsink. with aluminium foil around the module to connect to the heatsink. Tested 40 minutes straight, and doesnt drop below 1500mW. Avarage: 1515mW.
cant measure the current, all my 3 DMM's are shit.
