can you change recent post preferences?

I always look at the recent posts but i find that 8 is not enuf sometimes, i dont get the chance to click on some because they go away before i can click them so i have to go searching for them. So i tried to click recent post preferences ontop of it to see if i could change it to 15 or something.  In the screen it says your administrator has enabled the reset function, your preferences will not be saved.  When i try to change them it doesnt save like it says above it.

So my question is how can i change the number of recent posts if it is possible?

I'd like to be able to have more listed as well... what I usually have to do is go there first, then to the main directory to see if it's listed - then if i posted to it, I have to go to my profile to view my last posts.... if all else fails, I have to search.

Having the last 15 posts might be really nice...

i can try increasing this but it might put too much load on the server

changing prefs are disabled for security reasons
