Building my own laser..?

Hello.

Some of you are saying that building your own laser is legal even if it's over 5mW, so I am wondering, how do you build your own laser and would it be cheaper then for example dealextreme.com ?

The topicstarter doesn't want to know how to build a laser, but how the homebuild laser would be cheaper than commercial ones.

The ebay pens are too cheap. We can't build our laser so cheap. The more expensive ones like the 1W 445nm we can build that ones with a total cost lower than the commercial price.
