building a laser mic

Hi guys,

I don't have much to share but I'm starting this thread for the purpose of discussion. Has anyone successfully built a practically usable laser mic? I made 1 last night and it's not very good but it proves the concept. I could listen into sounds and music at the source but it was very faint.

I might try running the file through a software audio filter to see how much improvement that makes.
