OK so I want a variable laser driver with an LED current readout and a preset option for current.
However I can't afford one so I found a way to make one for around $100-$150 :na:

So Thursday during lunch I drew a block diagram of my concept and last night I made it on paint

I'm going to use these
Laser driver
Panel Meter
Please tell me what you think :thanks:

Your (input protection?) diode is backwards. Your (input attenuation?) pot isn't hooked up correctly. If you switch between dummy load and laser head while the driver is powered, you WILL kill the laser.

It can be done for much cheaper - <$40 in parts if you build it yourself.

Use FlexMod P3. It is way cheaper and deliver more current. That even have bias current you can set. And instead use current meter in series, try to use a high power metal film sense resister.
