Has anyone used this driver? It's the Blackbuck 6.
The specs look really good and it's rated up to 6amps which is nice. It says it's for LED or lasers and it's components look similar to an SXD-V3. I'm going to order one and try it out. It kind of sucks it's coming from Russia. I can't say I've ever ordered anything from there before. Hopefully it comes through customs without to much delay. I couldn't find anything about it with a Web search. It looks like a really good driver. I'll let everyone know how it works out.

x-wossee is considered a pretty solid laser driver builder. It does look pretty large compared to a SXD and the regulator hard to sink as the inductor sticks out further but maybe the larger platform helps distribute heat enough that it does not need it.

In the description it says a heatsink is not required on anything up to 3 amps.

Yep saw that and is pretty good. I do up to 2.5A with the SXD with no duty cycle limitation up to 3.5A with a 60 second on 30 off duty cycle and heatsinking required above 3.5A so pretty similar but what I meant is it might take a bit of work for sinking with the regulator chip on the same side as the inductor which sticks out further for 4-5A operation with the NUBM07E, NDB7A75, NUBM44, ect... diodes.:)

Look interesting. What is the price for the drive you mentioned?

The guy X-wossee sells them on eBay for $25.00 plus $6 for shipping. They are coming all the way from Moscow so it could take some time for them to arrive. He gives a 10% dicount if you buy 5ive or more. I just ordered 5 of them this morning and went with the faster shipping which adds about $25..00, but I don't have the patience to wait for slow international orders. They look cool so I hope the perform as well as they look.

I emailed x-wossee about it before and he said heat sink paste or heat tape between the drivers back and the housing would do fine.

Funny how he says the "trimmer" works counterclockwise. I sure hope it works in both directions lol

I have used those pots before, or ones that look just like them and I am sure he means that counter clockwise increases output current.

I get the feeling you were joking anyway. ;)

Yes counter clockwise increases output and counter clockwise lowers it. Works both directions.

I'll have some 8 amp drivers that have multiple modes like strobe and lower power settings soon also.

Interesting, thanks!
I wonder if the "Output (drive) current 950... 8200 mA" is for the on board pot settable max current or for the actual modulated current. If it's the modulated current that's a bit of a bummer, it should be able to go down to 0.

I have recieved this driver. Lol idk what to do with it yet and I have a bunch of questions. I think I'm going to power another 465 with it. I need a parts list.
