Hi guys, I've been taken a break from the hobby for quite some time, but now I'm thinking about starting a small website selling lasers and accessories for bitcoins.
But I see that a lot have changed since I was active on these forums, so I need a little update on what shops sellings parts for DIY are good nowadays. I see modwerx are still active, but their inventory is a little lacking. It seems DTR has an ebay shop too. I'm mainly looking for diodes, preferably installed in modules (I don't think I can afford breaking diodes trying to press them), drivers, hosts, heatsinks, etc.

Also, any other news since I was gone? What's this about 635nm diodes? Another godsend like the xj projectors?

Anyone? I found LazorLabs , are they any good?

I'm pretty sure that is a store owned by someone here on LPF.

For some parts, take a look at Cajunlasers.com (based in America), Survivallaser.com (Based in America I think), Rayfoss.com.

Those are a few stores I look at frequently.

I've personally used LazorLabs. The customer service is impeccable, I recommend them 100%. And as LessPaul said, it IS owned by a member here Ghostchrome Also, for diodes, and a couple other helpful doodads, Cajun Lasers is highly respectable. If you need flexdrives, or anything Dr. Lava "sells" don't go to him. His service is horrible and you'd probably get it from Flaminpyro faster than he even got it shipped out to you. Not worth the hair pulling. For other sleds, I recommend Glenn (Scopeguy20) some great service there, and I've never been disappointed.

Other than that, I think a nice WELCOME BACK! is in order :)
