I am pretty new but i may help.
I'd suggest going to Lazerer.
He has some good lasers. People on the forum seem to get his lasers a lot.
You can get a 200mw red laser for 50$ + shipping.
But as far as brightness you can get a 100mw green for 60$.
or.
You can go on the B/S/T section on the forum and you can probably get a good laser there if you really look for one.

It's all based on opinion. I would rather have a 60$ HeNe rather than a 60$ handheld. You have to provide more information on what you want.
