Battery stuck on my 200mW

I just bought a 200mW and the AAA battery that came with it is stuck in the upper part of the pointer and no matter how hard I bang it against my hand, it won't come out. The battery easily moves around inside the upper chamber but when it gets near the opening, it gets lodged. The seller is totally cool with an exchange but is it possible I'll just get another one with the same issue? I paid $85 and the next model up he carries is the torch style and he wants $150. Guess I have no choice but to roll the dice.

That silver bit will come out of the laser, it's just press fit in there, mine has come out a few times. If the seller is cool with it, try this: screw the laser back together and firmly grip the top part of the laser where the module is, and slowly but firmly rock it back and forth and pull on it, it should come out. Hope it helps.

I just inspected a 5mW version, there is supposed to be a plastic sleeve in the battery compartment to ensure that the battery is centred and can easily pass the silver tread part without catching.

This means that the problem is permanent with yours.
One solution would be to buy a 5mW pen and replace/exchange the battery end, just make sure if it is one or two AAA version. :)

Try using a magnet or hot glue to attach to the battery and pull it out.
Sometimes the insulation on the battery can cause them to get stuck.
