Since we have had new mods on the Forum... I have seen
non noob members being banned....

I think it would be a good Idea to have an area on the Forum
that would show for any banned member their pedigree...

1) The banned member's User name
2) Date of Ban
3) Duration of ban
4) Reason for ban
5) Who asked for ban

It would let other members see what has been considered a
banning offence..
I was banned at one time and I would have no problem having
this info in a public area...

Let me hear your thoughts...

[EDIT]
Here it is....

I think LPF used to actually have a thread with a list of banned members. I wouldn't have a problem with doing that again, but it's a bit of a PITA to maintain.

If you need the information on why someone was banned etc, you could just contact Avery, Dave, Simon or me and we can find out.

A whole section on it seems a bit excessive ;)

Cold used to make a new thread whenever he banned so just have the mods do the same.

If the mods have to document every ban in a detailed way, it leaves them less time to actually get on with moderation. Perhaps just a simple "User was banned for X days for this post: ......" would be enough.

If you guys really want a list of the bans and durations, reasons etc, I'll bring it up with c0ld .. It could just be a simple list in a thread if you really see the need ...

There is about 2 pages of bans, starting a thread on each one would just clutter the place up.

It not because I need to know who or why someone was banned..
Like I said in the OP...it would be a wake-up call to the new Members..
and let the rest of us know what's going on...
Right now the info seems to be hidden for some reason...

As to managing the thread there are 4 mods on the forum and you
guys don't ban 100 members per day...
What's the count... about 2-3 per month if there are no spammers..

Just do what Avery used to do. Say who got banned... no need for details.. just "was causing fights" or whatever and close the thread after

I have emailed Avery and the other mods about a thread. I would be fine maintaining it if its what you guys wanted, starting new threads just for a reason is kinda pointless when it can be summarized on 1 line ..

I can see a need for a list so that we can refer to it...
It will be easy to see how many times someone was banned
and for what reasons...

@ Things... IF you already have a list why can't you put it
into a New Stickied Thread in this Administative section...
maybe just C/P it... That can't be that time consuming... IMO

The list is a bit messy, and would take a fair bit of tidying up.

Besides, I don't think we need to list every spammer as well.

I'll see what I can do.

I agree we don't need anyone with (let's say) less than 50 posts on the
list... Thanks for looking into it..

great idea jerry=)

yah lets do this
need to (ironically) make sure no drama occurs in the thread itself, the purpose should just be to list the stuff

What a GREAT idea, man! It'll help everybody know the reasons for any ban without having to sort through 9000 threads.
