Anyone Know Were I Could Buy a X Y Scanner?

I have had the idea latley that i was going to build a X Y scanner because i have seen videos on youtube and they are just amazing. I especially like this one. YouTube - My homemade X/Y laser scanner

But after seeing a step by step tutorial i had no idea what they were talking about. So do you guys know of anybody that sells X Y scanner at a pretty reasonable price. :thinking:

it depends if you want cpu controlled or just random by it self...
The cheapest cpu controlled is 2 speakers with a driver that can blink the laser on and off the second is using stepper motors driven like speakers this is a bit better.
third would be stepper motors used like stepper motors like normal. (stepper motors are what cnc machines use)
So you can diy for cheap to get started then decide if you want to go balls deep and buy the real deal for a scanner around 300$ if you diy.
This will give you the ability not only to do beam shows but to also do images and words.
But it takes alot of work
you can buy a sound activated unit or dmx but those are still a bit up there in price.
So whats your budget?
