As many of you know... Flaminpyro's reputation was put to question by a stupid moron. I'm here to trample that even further into the mud with this short review of my Tank007 I recently received.

I have been on the waiting list for months and I finally got it.

First impressions: Wow the host is much smaller than I thought and much heavier.

Putting in one of the batteries I had gotten from taking apart my laptop battery it started right up with no problems.
Now I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else but the A140 diode was far more bluish in color than the old a130 diode I have. I wish I had a camera to show you guys some pics... I'll get around to borrowing my bro in laws.

The laser is amazing... both in quality and durability. I even dropped it outside. (Always use the strap when going outside)

It came in a nice box with all of its parts such as the stand and it felt like I had bought it from an actual store. You would never know the difference.

The whole laser assembly is clean. Driver hardly gets hot and Jeff had told me it was doing just over 1000mws.

This is my first copper heat sink and man what a difference! I can feel the heat almost immediately dissipating from the host.

Now about Customer Service.
Flaminpyro (Jeff) has answered every PITA message I set him. He never lost his cool. And even though he has been swamped with making sure each order is perfect he gave me a 50% discount off of a focus ring (copper) just for waiting!

Excellent deal and excellent workmanship.
Pictures soon to follow.

Is there an actual color difference? Currently all my 445's are a130's.

Looking forward to some pictures

And that moron/scammer was banned:)
flaminpyro is A+ in my book I love my tank007

Interesting that you can perceive that much of a change in color. I'm sure these 445nm diodes have a 5-10 +or- in nm.
I have both diodes and dont see a difference with mine. I need to get more 445 lasers:)

I've bought a couple of things off Flaminpyro and everything has top notch!!! Talk about attention to detail, his machining skills are some of the best in my book. You can't go wrong with Flaminpyro builds, glad you got a Tank!!

Thats weird you mention the color difference form the A130's and the A140's; I put a A130 in my Egemus build but I have a couple of A140's I haven't used yet just sitting in the drawer, I might have to look into that!!

Thanks!!

A130 and a140 have different wavelength ? I want to see the pictures, as I totally don't believe.

No they don't.
Each diode varies; some are more efficient and some are less, some have a higher Vf, others lower.
Same with wavelenght, some might be lower and other are higher in the spectrum :)
And since each eye is different, you might be able to tell a difference between 440nm and 450nm (+/-5nm tolerance).

Btw: I also approve that Flaminpyro does a great job. I love my Tank007 and would never give it away :)

I just want to see those two side by side looking different color. IMHO even camera should be able to capture it, maybe even better then eye. IMHO the wavelength should be exactly the same for all diodes from the same material, but we know the color shifts a bit with temperature .. and that is where the diodes can differ a lot. But 10nm ?
But yeah, we don't know if the a130 and a140 are from the same material.

^ Wavelength does vary diode to diode of the same type. +/- 10nm, even 15nm it seems. Members even sell high wavelength 405s. Its (almost) exact for DPPS lasers only. You can test your wavelength with a single axis diffraction grating or single slit diffraction. The shift with temperature is separate.
Its likely that a130 / a140 are the same diode just binned for efficiency.

Thanks for the Rep Kevlar. Yeah check each one and see whats the brightest. I have 3 other diodes I want to check out myself sometime.

The host is worth it. With the microboost I had it running over 3 mins and the driver safety feature didn't activate at all.

One's brighter than the other. But it's noticeable. Not all cameras take accurate pictures of laser light. Some cameras were showing violet lasers as super bright blue. I'll try to see if I know anyone who has a camera that can take accurate pictures.

You might be right... but it seems to be more efficient than the a130 I have. I need some tools. I seem to be progressing deeper into the hobby now. :D

Yeah that's true. It's really noticeable at least by me anyway.
I promise I will somehow get accurate pics sometime this week.
