OK I'm a little confused.
I was about to buy this sweet multimeter, a digital auto ranging meter with a temp probe. I can get it for $29 the temp probe sounds like fun.
Extech MN36, Autoranging Mini Multimeter (MN-36, MN 36)

This will be used for measuring mA from the a dummy load, from Flaminpyro.

In the specs, it looks like it will only read up to 200mA (400.0μA to 200.0mA)
I have a cheap walmart multimeter at home with a cracked LCD screen
It has settings for 200m up to 2000m.

Does this mean the one I want to get, would only give me readings up to just 200mA. Before it switches over to volts.
Thats not much. Especially with the 405nm 8X diodes becoming cheaper. Those can easily take more than 200mA.

That meter can test up to 10 Amps from the data sheet...

An auto ranging DMM will only auto range on the setting you choose
it will not jump from Amps to Volts automatically....

On the 400mv scale it will read down to 000.1mv
it is a 3 1/2 digit DMM
Those ratings are Maximum Scale values...
