Alright Euda  Nice to see things are moving forward for you :)

Your pretty lucky that your dad has some good experience as a machinist, I was self taught to a point and then I decided to get serious with it and now with the help of my teach (44 years eperience I have a degree in it ;) )But what I'm saying is make sure your watching those skills are priceless IMO

Very nice heatsinks! folks with 501b's ought to keep an eye on these, they'll probably sell pretty quickly!

Congrats on the new "baby" too ;-)

Ah great! Finally a good source for custom heatsinks in Europe! Looking forward to my first build with a heatsink made in europe ;-)

It was measured to be 0.1 mm precise fit into 501B.

I have not tried but it's fairly possible that they work with other P60 lights.
In any case, you have the measurements there on the website, with addition of:
Total lenght being 32.5 mm.
Which is made up of body long 22 mm and collar being 10,5 mm.

New heatsinks are also being designed (well, finished designing, just need to make them), which will be much bulkier, and direct pressfit for diodes.
See here:

It'll be a while, until those get stocked, (give it a month or so), so feel free to dig into those existing on the website already.

Hey thanks man :)

I just finished rendering out these new ones, now perfected and RTM:
Final_501b.jpg

I struggled a little with the texture for realistic looking machined aluminium, "brushed" , but I think I got it.

Will make some sketches, get them done this weekend.

Also, until weekend, need to design a pressfit C6 one. Possibly with little bit more extrusions out front, to add more mass and more driver space, since C6 is not exactly as bulky as 501b is.

Will see, post results here.

:thanks:

Any chance this will be made out of copper

I like that small rendered laser host :)

Maaaybe...

Next time we're out buying aluminum stock, we'll ask around for the price of copper.

But it won't be THAT soon until they are in stock. Maybe after those direct pressfit ones.

For now, aluminium only.

how do you get the wires soldered on once you get the diode pressed in?

You'd first solder the wires, and then press it in. It should not be a problem.

My new personal 445nm will use this particular heatsink, just for proof of concept.

In the last resort, I can always make the heatsink in two parts, the body detached from the collar where all the components are. But it should not be neccessary.
