O-Like glass lens vs Aixiz glass lens and 405-G-1 lens

So I ordered a few of these 405-450nm Glass lenses from O-Like through their website.

I wanted to compare them with the Aixiz 445 Glass, the O-Like 445 and the 405-G-1.

I was worried because these are only half threaded and thought I would have a problem with attaching a focus ring.

Any way they came in a nice little pill box.

I did not want to use any glue to attach the focus adapter so I came up with using thin strips of electrical tape and tightly wrapping the head of the lens. Try to get it no wider than the threads on the adapter. Also you will want to use some teflon tape on the lenses threads to tighten up the fit in the module. Sorry did not remember to take any shots before I wrapped them up.

Then just screw on the focus adapter until the tape gets pulled up in the thread and binds. I was able to get it very tight.

Now for the LPM results. Tested all my lenses with 445 and 405 lasers.

SS 10440 445nm A140

557mW 405-G-1

493mW O-Like Glass

456mW Aixiz Glass

12X 18650 405nm Lite On sled diode

649mW 405-G-1

605mW O-Like Glass

540mW Aixiz Glass

I was very impressed with the power output after seeing these readings out these inexpensive lenses. So I decided to check out the divergence. Here is the bar on my 445 SS 10440 with the different lenses using a 10440(AAA size) as a measuring stick. Just can't seem to remember to pick up a ruler. The laser is ranged at 35 feet.

O-Like Glass

So I think this lens is definitely a contender. I will be getting a few more of these.

PROS
Has much more power than the Aixiz Glass
Has about the same divergence as the Aixiz Glass.
Has much less splash than the Aixiz Glass.
Much better divergence than the G-1

CONS
Half Threaded
Not as much power as the G-1

Hope you like my take on the O-Like supplied Glass Lenses.

If there in any additional information that would help let me know.

-------EDIT-------

Got some more of these and did another power comparison.

Re: O-Like 405/445 Glass lens vs Aixiz 405/445 Glass and 405-G-1

This is the lens that I used to make my 445 lens comparison thread shown here:
http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/445nm-a130-lens-comparisons-51456.html

The idea was to get AixiZ to give us this exact same lens assembly, but to have the optics mounted in a full length threaded nut.

They got close, but the half threaded ones are still better I can confirm...

It's not a huge difference. But I have it as about 5% more power vs AixiZ 445.

But as you have shown, you have to come up with a creative way to attach the focus rings, or EzFocus adapters...

I have made custom ones for my 445 builds. See a close up of my Key Chain 10280 445 build. I had to make it this way because there is no room inside the host to move the module farther in. So the lens sticks out pretty far...

But I think the dot is a little cleaner as well as around 5% more power vs AixiZ 445...

I just glue my adapters to the top of the half threaded lenses...

Based on the results that I got on the two lasers I tested. The O-Like lens was an 8% increase on the 445 and 12% on the 405 vs the new Aixiz lenses. I will try with some of my higher power lasers and report back.

Anybody know where I can get some more of these half threaded 405 glass Aixiz lenses other than O-Like. Need a few more and don't want to wait for shipping from china?

When I first did my lens comparison thread for 445, I used the half threaded AixiZ 405 lens...

Then I contacted AixiZ to ask them to get the exact same optics mounted into a full length threaded nut for us because we want to attach focusing adapters and stuff...

So that's what they pretty much did. but there seems to be a slight difference in power. The AixiZ 405 half threaded ones seem to be at least 5% better with 445...

That said, there are variations from lens to lens as well...

They're not perfect. But for the price, they're the best we can get at the moment...

Thanks Jay!

Seems Reasonable, but 5%....Oh well I guess with all the variables that is possible.

Got some more of these today and I did another comparison with a 445 diode set to 810mA
The 405 Glass has a 16% increase over the new 445 Glass
