How many mw of power would a red laser diode pointer have to be to project a visable beam in an average indoor lit room?

Thank you for that answer it put into perspective a bunch of things for me. If you could out line a few more at your convenience How many mw would a red pointer have to be roughly to send a good visable beam in the dark, as in a dark night not much moon. And as for a green pointer to see a definite beam in a lit room or on a dark night given they were all of a wave length that was pretty common. Thanks again and it's much appreciated.
