I decided to test all my hene tubes today, I thought I had at least 40 of them, but there were only 33 in the box. Out of the 33, 8 of them were bad.

They may be all spoken for, I dont know yet, but if not, then I may sell them. :D

It rains them from time to time, and I keep having to pick em up off the lawn, no just kidding. lol.I did a weeks worth computer work for them and some other laser stuff.

Man! If you could combine all those into one beam you'd get around 20mW!!!!!!!

It'd be nice to go outside when it's raining though and catch a few on your tongue. No wait.... That'd be stoopid. You might get one in the eye. No, wait again... THAT'S what laser goggles are for!!!

M :)

lol! You actually made me laugh out loud with that!
there are about 32 good tubes

I did have several more in with other stuff. have tested them all now. there are 32. The aditional ones are a slightly different tube, have the same model #, they dont have the built in ballast resistor.

:yh:

If anyone wants to buy one of these, get ahold of heruursciences. I have shipped them all to him in return for a fiber laser he has.

:)

i made a spectrograph of a 546.8 HeNe laser showing the fluorescence in the cavity :

i don't remenber how to choose a particular wavelenght, is this with the lenght of the cavity ?

Thats cool, I think the coating on the mirrors is what selects the wavelength, but it may also have to do with the cavity length.
