Hey guys I have a good deal from which I can get you a 200mW Green laser from Viasho for around $650. If you're interested then let me know, if you want to make offers around that price mark then feel free to PM me. You can see the laser below, it is the one in the middle.

Hi Aseras,
Yes, this center unit could possibly be from the same original source is China.
However, if so it is not of the same output power and quality control level.

Optotronics has a sales and distribution with the manufacturer that gives us the "right of 1st refusal" on all RPL production. Meaning that any units we receive that do not meet our average output or beam quality requirements can be returned to the manufacturer and they then have the right to sell them through other channels of distirbution. Since these are listed as "200 mW", this would be their peak power and in effect a sub par RPL-165.

If ths company is selling these at $650, then that is $19 USD less than the current "sale price" of the RPL-165; not a very good deal when you consider that you have no idea as to the true average output power or beam quality (only that it peaks at 200mW), may or may not include the battery, case or charger. Will not include customs import duties (usually 3-5%) and payment to most companies in China require an international wire transfer ($30-$50 USD depending on your bank and checking account type).

Hey there MR.Know it All!!! I don't work for any company, I can simply get this laser cheaper then the retail price from the company which is why I said I would sell it for around $650 and before you go around putting the laser down I would gladly send it out to a trustworthy member like SenKat to get it checked for it's average output power.

Hey there MR.Know it All!!!???

I think that is a bit Harsh Vegeta.

Yes I believe you are posting a good deal and I am sure you are sincere and are genuinely forwarding a good deal to the members on this forum. But the fact is, you have no idea of the true output of this laser, else you would not have offered Senkat to test the true output for you and make it Public.

Bootleg however represents a company that does know the output of its lasers and are prepared to stake their reputation on that fact that what they say is true.

This is not an attack on you, but put it in a different context ...Mr Know It All??? I guess he does, it is his business to know it all.

Vegeta calling people names or infuring that they are arrogant with the knowledge they possess, with a comment like Mr know it all will probably not serve you well here. So please keep your comments towards reputable members here to yourself please.

Thanks for reading Timelord :)

Vegeta, I spent months hunting down info on the RPL last year and found out some interesting stuff and I believe you may have come across the OEM like a few have done before you.

HOWEVER, I do not think you should try selling them. No offense, but when it comes to selling high power lasers straight from the manufacturer you'll want to be able to run the right diagnostics to know what you're truly offering the public. If this deal were posted by SenKat or someone with a decent power meter and who I could trust to know what he's doing, that's one thing. Sorry if I sound like a jerk saying this, but I don't think you fall into that classification.

And don't try accusing Jack - it sounds to me like you're trying to say he's ripping people off. However there's a lot of work he does and a lot of equipment he uses that adds a decent degree of "value added", not to mention that he does not purchase them through Viasho, but through another more-expensive source in order to maintain higher quality and specifications. Then you combine that all together and notice that of all the major resellers, he's probably working on some of the slimmest profit margins, and offering some of the best deals... which in iteself means a bit in my book

Just my opinon..

EDIT: I just noticed your mention of sending it to SenKat for testing. That in itself shows you really should not be trusted to conduct this deal. I knew you had to be out of the US, you cannot buy these lasers from within from that manufacturer, but sending them into the US for testing and then sending them to their destination? Sounds like an easy way to blow hundreds of dollars and I'd need to be sure who is accountable there.

I've sold some non-FDA compliant lasers on GBs from here but I've spared a bit of cost towards shunning customs as much as possible, and I try not to ask for $ in advance. If anything goes wrong, I'm always prepared to accept the losses 100% out of pocket. That's another way in which Jack/opto adds value to their lasers over the OEM rates.

Sorry for being so harsh about this - especially if you meant to do good and help out us other hobbyists - but unfortunately this seems like a potential recipe for disaster.

everyone is just too damn defensive these days. you can't say anything contrary to want someone else wants or believes without someone getting pissed at it and taking it personally. we don't live the the xfiles, not everyone has a hidden agenda.
